Upon completing college with my accounting degree I worked for a successful and well established real estate firm in Banner Elk, NC for 15 years doing everything from advertising, filing bookkeeping, listing/selling preparations, and becoming very familiar with the real estate world and sparking my love for everything real estate. I was fortunate enough to transition into a job as the Membership Coordinator at the High Country REALTORS® Association and then as the Executive Officer at the High Country Home Builders Association. My husband, Dick, brought us to Boone in 1975, where he served as Dean of the Graduate School and Professor of English at Appalachian State University. Our five children graduated from our excellent Watauga High School. They have now moved into careers and families. We now have nine grandchildren.
